The LOOK
As I turned , your question caught my breath,
A flutter in my chest, a dance with fleeting death.
Eyes of the crowd like stars, yet yours alone held sway,
Time stilled, a frozen tide, as your gaze bade me stay.
My smile bloomed unbidden, warmed by your gentle light,
Like that first glance we shared, when leaving felt not right.
Each dawn I linger softly, craving one glimpse of you,
Your absence cloaks the world in gray, my heart’s bright hue subdued.
